An Act of Kindness

O NE OF OUR PRIME PURPOSE IN THIS PLANET IS TO DO ACTS OF KINDNESS to one another. We should not have second thoughts about helping other people. In an ideal world, kindness should come naturally for everybody. We were hardwired to be considerate. In fact, we all were born with the innate desire to help.
The sense of doing good develops as we grow. For those who grew up in a less supportive home, it can be hard for some of them to be selfless. When we anticipate the needs of other people, our acts become intrinsically rewarding. Children often do this to earn praise, For us grownups, however, it should go beyond compliments and recognition.
Kindness becomes genuine when we don’t think about what other people will say. The reward should come in the fact that we have somehow made life easier for another person.
As you and your family try to get through the challenges of this world, it is always nice to make helping a family affair. When friends become sick, we should already know what to do. We send flowers or visit them if they are in the hospital. Ask the family members what they can do to help out. When you drive over for a visit, ask everyone to come along. This is a great time to talk about blessings and how acts of kindness are returned, should you find yourselves in the same kind of situation.
Kindness does not have to be extravagant at all. In fact, people do appreciate small acts of charity. The simple gestures show the people that you are always thinking about their needs. Concern is always a welcome trait, and one that people will always remember.
Remember, the world is a difficult place as it is. We sometimes get too wrapped up with our lives to even remember about the needs of other people. That is why, it is always nice to take a step back and see what you can do to contribute to society.
You don’t have to sacrifice a lot of your time in doing it. In fact, a minute or two would suffice. You just have to know that you can make a difference. You will gain friends who will stick with you through thick and thin, and by the time you do need their help, you will have more than enough hands to carry you along.
