If El Niño Comes This Year, It Could Be a Monster
In his article about the potential for El Niño to come back with a vengeance this year, our editor Adam Mann made a Chris Farley reference. Some of you guys are either too young to remember Farley’s hiularious El Niño skit from the ’90s, you simply don’t watch SNL, or you never click on helpfully embedded links as a matter of principle. Either way, you were very concerned that our Spanish-language skills were subpar and took us to task in the comments.
Comedy was saved by heroic WIRED reader Ozy, who remembered the great man and educated you young’uns. Thanks, Ozy!
A Hideous-Beautiful Electric Motorcycle Inspired by Drug Use
The Facebook comments on that motorcycle story are hilarious. Just read the whole thread if you want to spend 5 minutes of your day laughing today. But if you don’t have the time, the highlight came from Eric Stewart, who pointed out that the motocycle looks exactly like a pizza cutter. He’s so right! We can’t unsee that now.
A Movie Too Terrible to Even Hate-Watch
Peter Rubin’s poetic takedown of the Johnny Depp’s new movie inspired some of you to comment in rhyme. Which we loved. And actually, we are thinking of instituting that as a new rule for WIRED comments across the board.
Wouldn’t it be grand/ when you make a stand/
to point out errors/ if your words were bearers/
not of wisdom only/ but also of glee?

JoeBob89 made a really good point about a TV version of The Big Lebowski:
I like your taste and you’ve made some good calls here. But I would have to disagree on The Big Lebowski. The Dude is a great character for 2 hours, but over a much longer period of time he would probably become annoying. The Dude is a great guy to have show up to your party and entertain everyone with his pseudo-hippie drivel and funny stories for a night. But if you had to live with him every day it would probably get real old, real fast.
